We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to prepare ourselves for welcoming a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help us bring our baby home.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Why adoption? Adoption was laid heavily on my heart since before I met Seth. It was always something that I thought would happen, and when Seth and I started dating and it came up, he said "Me too!" when I shared my heart with him. We got married, started our family and always had adoption on our mind. After three beautiful boys, now is the time! We are so excited (and a little scared!) to be on this journey. We are also incredibly honored that you want to share in our story with us.
Simply put, we want to replicate the Gospel - to seek out and choose to love a precious child; to be their family. This is what God did for us. We only know love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). We want our lives to mirror that and testify to what He has done for us. God is good, y'all.
We would be lying if we said we were not a little intimidated in asking our family and friends to come alongside us financially in order to bring this baby home. The simple truth is that we cannot do this on our own - we need our village! Rest assured though, we are saving independently, having yard sales, making t-shirts, and selling our "unneeded" stuff too. ;) We cannot express how blessed we are to call you "friend" and when you think about us, say a little prayer that we would be faithful servants of God during this process.
