It may have taken some time, but about a year ago Jon and I accepted the notion above. We decided to stop “trying” to get pregnant, something we had been praying to happen for a very long time. Instead we took time to pray, reflect, and discuss our next options in building our family. 8 months later we were still discussing. On Mother’s Day, Jon and I attended mass with my mother. On the way home later that evening, we realized God had spoken to us both that morning, and He ever so softly confirmed what Jon and I had been discussing: Adoption was the path for us in creating the family we wanted.
A few weeks later we found ourselves at a consultation appointment with an agency we’d researched and we haven’t looked back! Jon and I have completed our home study segment- back ground checks, interviews, home visits, references, etc. We still have several trainings to attend and complete, books to read, and a large profile to build. We know although these tasks may be tedious, they get us one step closer to growing our family.
The amount of money needed for adoption is large. So large, in fact, some days it seems impossible. $24,000. That’s the amount we are trying to raise. This would cover a significant amount of the agency fees. We know it’s a lot, and we may not get to our goal, but every little bit helps. If you’re unable to donate monetarily, we still need your help- please pray for us during this process. Thank you all for the love that has been poured upon us since announcing our decision to adopt. It’s been a very humbling experience.
