Friends and Family, as many of you know, we have been traveling the path of adoption for the last year. It has had many ups & downs, to say the least! Overall it has been an incredible experience, one we could never have imagined. But this journey is nearing its conclusion. On July 11th we were presented with an adoption situation. On July 16th the expectant mom was presented with our profile & she chose us to be the baby&'s forever family. On July 17th she gave birth to a little boy. On July 18th we flew out of Lewiston to Nashville, Tennessee. On July 19th we met him. This has been a life changing experience for us. Along with this addition to our family comes the costs of the adoption. We feel confident in the fact that we can provide a wonderful life for this little boy with his new family & older siblings. However, the "start up" cost of adoption is what causes many families to shy away from adoption. While we had saved a portion of the fees we need help to cover the rest as the cost was much higher than anticipated. We have also accrued expenses from last minute flights & car rental. We have been welcomed into a home of a very generous couple in Franklin, TN which is doing a lot to defray the cost of the required stay. We hesitate to ask for help of this nature, but do know that many of our friends & family want to help in some way.
