UPDATE December 23rd: We have been matched with a chubby checked two year old boy! His best friend recently was adopted which has him asking for his own Momma! We were so thankful to get an update on our boy, but are heartbroken knowing that he is asking when we will come. We are working hard to bring him home as quickly as possible. One thing I will never get used to as an art teacher in an orphanage - children are growing up without parents. I know them. They are my students. Often, my students will plead with me, asking if I would take them home. I really don&'t think I can explain how my heart hurts for each of those kids who live without a mommy. We can&'t adopt them all, but we feel that by God&'s grace we are able to be the family for one more. We will grieve that we just can&'t care for them all, but we will do all we can for one more. I can&'t wait to look into the face of our new son or daughter and say, "Yes! You are coming home with me. We will be your family forever, fighting for you and loving you - no matter what!" Maybe you aren&'t called to adopt, but you would be willing to help an orphan find his/her family. You can do that by praying for us, sharing our story with others or giving towards our adoption. Every prayer and every gift (in any amount!) helps bring an orphan one step closer to family. Thank you for reading our story and joining us on this journey!
