Christopher West

is adopting a child from Ukraine

In December 2018 after a sleepless night of prayer, the desire to host an orphan from Eastern Europe was born. We were blessed with the opportunity to host "A" twice. Our whole family fell in love with him. His name, of course, starts with “A”, but rules prevent us from sharing his name and face online at this time.

Providentially, "A" became available for adoption after our first hosting in the summer of 2019. However, Ukrainian law says that a child has to remain on a domestic adoption list for one year prior to becoming available for international adoption.

After winter hosting ended in January 2020, we were planning on seeing him two more times before we could bring him home - to stay. But, due to the coronavirus pandemic, "A" was not able to travel for the summer or winter hosting periods of 2020. This has been hard for our family (and for “A”), but we are resting in the comfort God’s sovereignty. In the meantime, we have been patiently (and not so patiently) waiting as we’ve been fulfilling the plethora of requirements for international adoption.

Thank you for your consideration in showing God’s love to the fatherless.

With Love,

Chris, Martha, Nora, Wyatt, Eliza, Stella, and "A"
