Eugenia Wittick

is adopting a child from Colombia

Family and Friends!

WHO:The Wittick Family

WHAT: is ADOPTING!!

WHY: This is a desire that we have had since before getting married, and our family is finally in the season to turn our desire into action…or should we say, obedience! God’s Word is very clear about His love for the orphan, and commands us to care for the most vulnerable of these. We are accepting this equally precious and serious call to action through the adoption agency All God’s Children International to bring home a little girl or boy from Colombia. To bring home our child!

WHEN: So far we have chosen our agency, chosen our country, and been pre-approved to adopt!!! Yipee! The next step will be our formal contract being signed in Jan. Why Jan?Colombia's adoption rules specify that in order to be eligible for an adoption, our youngest has to be 1yo. After the contract is signed, we will begin our home study and training (US paperwork), and dossier (Colombia's paperwork). After these forms are all approved and complete, we wait to be matched! We will likely be done with all of the paperwork by summer of 2019. Then we wait !! The matching could take 6-18 months BUT as soon as we receive the call that we have been matched, we fly to Colombia to get our child no more than 2 months later:-)

(UPDATE) Our paperwork has now been approved and we are on the waiting family list as of Jan. 2021!! Now we keep our paperwork updated so that we are ready to roll when we get matched!

WHERE: We have often been asked why Colombia? In efforts to keep this 5 year journey brief, Colombia is the perfect combination of: a language and culture that fits in with our bilingual/ bicultural family (Eugenia is from Argentina), an adoption timeline that lines up with our desire to bring home our child quickly, the opportunity to adopt a young child in order to keep our birth order (something individually important to us:-), and a government proactively seeking the wellbeing of its orphaned children as a member of the Hague Convention.

HOW: Our adoption will cost $42,000. As a family we have been setting money aside every month to bring our child home. Two Noonday Collection jewelry parties have already raised $500+, a woodwork auction is the the works for late 2021, and we will been granted for a $3,000 matching grant through The Summit Church Adoption fund (via Lifesong for Orphans)! Slowly the $42,000 will shrink…would you consider joining us in this effort!?

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up. We are humbled and forever grateful for your love, encouragement, and generosity.

Introducing our daughter: Valeria Eliana Wittick

    October 10, 2022

We landed in Bogota on Sept 10th and traveled to Valeria’s hometown of Manizales, Colombia. After a couple days to adjust and a meeting with her amazing care team, we met and “brought home” Valeria on Sept 13th. So began the adjustment of becoming a family of 6.

We welcomed Valeria with much excitement and have felt the WHOLE gamete of emotions especially that first week. I am so thankful for prayers from community, raw time with Jesus and truths for my sweet sisters, adoption agency, fellow adoptive mommas and my amazing husband😘

The girls have had their moments, but have overall been totally enamored with their new sister🥰 Travis is the best husband in the world and has proven once again to be the most wonderful daddy. Ashton has been an incredible sister and friend to our family has blessed us during this trip in more ways than we can count!! We love you so much!

Week 1 was spent in Manizales, Colombia meeting and bonding. After one week we were approved to leave her region and travel to another city to begin guardianship proceedings. We had a great time in La Mesa and loved the tropical climate and family time spent there. Our last week was spent in Bogota, Colombia awaiting Valeria's Colombian passport and US Visa.

On October 5th we traveled back to the States. While it's great to be home, we leave our 3 week trip with full hearts, beautiful views, great new friends, closer to Jesus and with our beloved daughter Valeria Eliana❤️

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF BRINGING HOME OUR DAUGHTER!

    Hello All!!
Gosh what an exciting couple weeks it has been. We were notified last week that our "Encuetro Date" aka. Meeting Date, is set for September 13th...4 WEEKS!!!

We have spent the summer transitioning Selah's room to share with her sister, getting in fun events that will need to slow down for a time when our daughter comes home, and knocking out paper work to prepare to travel....and the time is almost here!

We purchased our plane tickets and first Airbnb last night! It's getting real!!

    More updates to come!!
