We are so excited to announce that we have started the journey to adopt a child from India! We have been praying, researching, and talking about this decision for months now, and we are so excited to see our family grow - Woodward party of 5! You may be asking, "why India?" Through our research we've learned that India has a higher orphan population than any other country in the world - somewhere around 30 million. Abandonment due to poverty, disease, social stigmas, and other factors, leaves these children vulnerable to become laborers, street children, and victims to human trafficking.
Adoption is a long and expensive process, but one we feel God is leading us to pursue. Our anticipated time frame to complete this process is 18-24 months. The total projected cost to adopt from India is $32,007-$43,037. We are buckling down and saving, but we are hoping to fundraise as well since a good chunk of this total will be due in the first 6-8 months.
We are so fortunate to have an army of supporters and encouragers in our family, friends, life group, and church family. We want to invite you all into this process with us as we act, and wait, and watch to see what God will do through it. If you feel led to contribute financially, we certainly appreciate it and will be crowdfunding on this site. What we really need more than anything are your prayers and encouragement. Please pray for the child who will eventually join our family. Pray for his/her heart to be open and ready to love and be loved. Pray for physical protection as well. Pray for the birth mother as it can't possibly be an easy road she is walking. Pray that our family will have unity and a joint vision throughout the process.
