We have tried to have a family for over 4 years now, exhausting all infertility treatment options. After that heartbreak, we still want to be parents so we are seeking to adopt. After the expense of infertility treatments, our savings have been depleted and we need assistance to help cover the expenses of the adoption. We are constantly surprised at the expenses related to the adoption process and the estimated expenses that are yet to come. On top of the fees we pay to our adoption agency, we are responsible for birthmother expenses which include lodging, transportation, and medical. We will also have to travel out of state for our placement so we will have expenses for travel and lodging while we process intra-state commerce agreements. Until we walked this road, we never knew the expenses related to adoption. We never imagined we would have to fund raise to help us get to our goal, but here we are.
