is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that our adoption related costs could easily total up to $55,000 and while we have saved up some funds, meeting that amount quickly is quite a challenge. This is why we have set a goal of $45,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. Costs include agency and legal fees, travel expenses for staying days to weeks in the state the child is adopted from as legal processes take place and expenses during unpaid work leave so the baby can adjust to and bond with us. Many companies do not offer assistance or pay while on adoption leave. While 33% of Americans consider adoption only 2% actually adopt due to high costs and the extensive process.

We are currently home study approved and waiting on a match. Waiting to be matched means that our agency is submitting our profile to birth moms that are placing their babies for adoption and we are just waiting for one of those birth moms to pick us.

The world's lack of understanding around the adoption process and costs has been very eye opening and we hope to bring more awareness to it. We have wanted to have a baby for a long time and have learned so much from the challenges we have faced. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as they grow up.

Thank you so much for your support. Words cannot express what it means to us!
