Adoption: Our Journey to Becoming Parents To our dearest family and friends, we have some exciting news to share with you. After much prayerful consideration and many conversations, Zak and I have decided to pursue adoption. This was a decision that we felt was the best for us after a long journey of trying to conceive. We are thrilled to share this news with our immediate and extended family, as well as our friends, many of whom have been there for us throughout this journey. Your prayers and words of encouragement have been a source of strength for us during the most difficult times. We understand that many of you have questions regarding our next steps. Over the next several months, we will be completing paper work, background checks, and a home study to begin the process of finding a match. We will also be raising funds to cover the costs of the adoption process and to ensure that the birth mother is well taken care of throughout her pregnancy.
As for the type of adoption we will pursue and where the adoption will take place, we do not yet know. But we trust in God and the match that He has for us. We firmly believe in the agency we have chosen to work with, and we are excited for whoever we will have the privilege of welcoming into our lives.
While we know that there will be challenges along the way, we are confident that every step we take will be ordered by God. We have received constant confirmation from Jesus that adoption is the path we are meant to take, and we feel humbled and grateful to have been appointed to adopt a baby (or babies). We ask that you keep us in your prayers during this time, and if you feel led to sow a seed, know that it is appreciated more than you can imagine, though it’s absolutely not necessary.
