In recent months we have been presented with an unexpected yet exciting ministry for our family; caring for children through the foster care system. God has opened our hearts to serving Him in this manner. Our goal is to help them re-unite with their biological family and to adopt a child or children when that time arises. There are many prerequisites for becoming Foster Parents, or as we prefer to say, a Foster Family. In August 2013 we received the documentation that we are licensed Foster Care Providers! We are humbled by the generosity that many of our friends and family have so openly shared with us! Though costs are not as high as through private adoption, the expense of caring for additional children with special needs continues to require deliberate faith on our part. Caring for foster children requires the use of supplies and resources that are specific to State and Federal regulations. Gifts that we have received will be designated for home study expenses as well as for the subsequent attorney fees when an adoption is finalized. On Sept. 20, we received our first foster child.
