We wanted to take a moment and share a piece of our Adoption journey with you. We are the Ziegler’s and our story like others, has had many twists and turns. Although one thing has remained the same and that is that the Lord contuines to show up every step of the way. We started our current adoption process almost 2 years ago. When we started, it was with a different agency and a completely different country. Due to circumstances beyond our control we had to switch agencies after paying a significant amount of money. We found ourselves asking the Lord if adoption is truly what we are being called to do. In true nature the Lord showed up in a big way. Just as we were beginning to wonder what exactly the Lord had in store for us we were presented with a file of a much older child then we had been anticipating and the child’s needs were greater then we had envisioned but as soon as we read her file it was an instant “oh there you are” feeling in our hearts. As if she had been in our family all along. Only one problem! She is in the Dominican Republic and we are currently approved in Malawi, Africa. Again we turned to the Lord and asked, “Okay, but how Lord?” And just like that, mountains began to move!
With all these changes and now new needs we have found ourselves asking the Lord yet again, “How”? Our homestudy had to be redone, our immigration documents had to be refiled and we had to prepare a whole new dossier. On top of all of that we will be required to stay in her home country for 4 to 6 months in order to complete the court process.
Financially, we don’t see how this is going to be possible. However, we will contuine to stand in faith and trust that God will finish what he started. That he will stir the hearts of friends, family, and foundations that help bring orphans to loving homes.
