On our first date we talked about adoption. It was both something we wanted to prioritize in our future family, but we didn't know it may be the only way we could have a family. One year into our marriage we found out that we needed to implement fertility medication to give us the best chance of conceiving a child. Three years, a bunch of fertility procedures, and one miscarriage later we have been told that it would take a miracle for us to get pregnant. However, we believe in a God that works miracles and "all things together for those who love him." Despite nearly four years of infertility, God’s promise to us stands more invincible than ever — that he will never leave us nor forsake us. We may never fully understand why we struggle with infertility but we are certain it is for our good.
If for no other reason, we believe that God has had us walk through infertility to cultivate in our hearts a desire for adoption. It amazes us to think that God would use our suffering to bring to us a child (through adoption) that he planned for us to be the parents of before the foundation of the world. Through the help of many friends who have adopted children, we’ve decided to adopt an infant domestically through Faithful Adoption Consultants. FAC is a wonderful organization located here in Georgia that works with dozens and dozens of agencies all over the US. Since they work with so many different agencies the average match time is 4.5 months and there are stories of couples getting matched days or weeks after their application is complete! That means once our home study is complete we could have a baby in our arms so soon–and that is exciting! As you may know with adoption comes substantial cost with bringing your baby home. The cost for adoption can total up to $50,000. As discouraging as it can be to think about how financially burdensome it is to adopt a child, we believe God has called us to trust him to provide for us through this process. We are willing and ready to empty our own savings account and take out a loan to see this happen. That said, we also want to ask for your help. The cost for adoption includes our FAC fee, home study costs, birth mothers expenses, traveling expense, attorney fees, agency fees, profile books, etc. With adoption you can't pay these fees later, you have to pay them up front. We are trusting the Lord provides the means to bring home our baby. Friends and family, we can't do this without you.
