A note from Don and JaNell:
Hi friends and family!
Our hearts have been through a lot over the last five years, experiencing four miscarriages and two failed IVF cycles, as we tried to grow our family. Though we have experienced great loss, we are so encouraged that we are exactly where we are meant to be and that God is calling us to adopt! We have lots of love to give and cannot wait to experience the joys of another child. Our promise is to love this child, always point them to Jesus, and be the best parents we can be.
We have been matched and travel is set. We are overwhelmed by Gods goodness and His timing.
Above all, if you could cover us in prayer as we travel and continue this journey, the birth mom, and Harper as we prepare to bring home this precious blessing!

Update 8
Discharged!!!!!
August 18, 2025What a whirlwind the past 48 hours have been! After lots of prayers, lots of wonderful medical staff, lots of love, and a whole lot more… sweet girl is officially DISCHARGED! After 3.5 weeks, we are so thrilled to be able to make our way home!!!
Thank you for your continued love and support! We are so grateful she is doing well and we’re a little in disbelief that we get to take this blessing home. Thank you Lord for all you have done! ❤️

August 15th Update
August 15, 2025"The Mighty One has done great things for me" - Luke 1:49
This morning sweet girl had her last dose of medicine and her feeding tube was removed! We are so grateful for these positive steps!! The NICU nurses and us had a little celebration dance as we are all excited for the positive improvements she has had. We are so beyond grateful for how well she has responded and continue to be amazed at all God is doing through sweet girl!
We still don't have a discharge date, as the medical staff have to observe her for a time period while she is not on the medicine. In addition, we still have to wait for ICPC and clearance to leave the state. We are praying it is not too long of a wait after discharge, but we know God's timeline is better than ours, so we are praying for His will to be done and us to hear every "not yet" as His blessing.
Continue to be in awe of God's provision through this journey and overwhelmed by His goodness!
We are so thankful for each prayer and the overwhelming amount of love and kindness shown. Words aren't enough, but THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!

August 10th update
August 10, 2025Ecclesiastes 3:11: "He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Baby girl has had a good weekend and we are so thankful 🩷 Doctors are planning to wean again Monday, which is encouraging. We continue to pray with each wean that she tolerates safely! Each day we are a day closer to going home. We pray for patience and to lean in to the Lords timeline and not our own.
Don and Harper traveled back to NC yesterday. Being so many states away from each other is incredibly hard, but we are hopeful and looking forward to the day we are all 4 reunited and home. 🏠

August 8th
August 8, 2025Baby girl continues to do well & seems to be heading in a positive direction. 🩷 We still don’t have a timeline, as it’s a day by day process, but we’re hopeful the positive trend continues, so that each day that passes is a day we’re closer to getting to go home. 🏠
We’re so thankful for the amazing team here who continues to go above and beyond! They have made this place seem as home as possible and provided care and love to baby girl.
We have had the gift of having both our daughters in the same zip code for a few days and that’s been a joy! Though Harper isn’t allowed in the NICU, just having her here and being able to spend some quality time with her, does our hearts good! Though we can’t wait till the day comes we’re all together at home!

August 5th
August 5, 2025Sweet girl continues to inspire us through her strength! She had a good night last night and continues to show improvements. Doctors say this is a slow process and we still don’t have a timeline, but she is doing well and both the medical staff and us are so proud of her! 🩷
Our prayers are for continued strength, growth and improvements! Rest for Don and I! And safe travels for our big girl as she is traveling down and we can’t WAIT to get our hands on her!
Thankful and overwhelmed by the continued love and support shown to us, even 18 hours away, we feel so loved and are so grateful for the friends, family, and community God has placed in our lives.♥️
