We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child!
Since the birth of Micah, we have both felt like our family is not complete. After having four consecutive miscarriages and seeing the emotional toll it has taken on the boys and us, it seems to us that God is closing the door to expanding our family biologically. Our boys still want another little brother or sister to love! Adoption has been something we have always wanted to be a part of given the Biblical mandate to care for the orphans and the fact that we, as believers, have been adopted through Christ into God's family. We have a passion to raise children to love and follow Jesus and would love to expand that passion to children God has given through someone else. Lord willing, we are hoping to complete this process (and acquire the necessary funds) in the next two years so our new child can keep up with his or her older brothers!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
Whether you can help financially or will be praying for us in this process, we appreciate your support!
Meet Evelyn Joy!! Our prayers and yours have been answered! Thank you all for supporting us through the ups and downs of this adoption journey; we would not be here without you! Evelyn is out of the hospital and we are hopefully headed back to Minnesota soon to have our whole family under one roof!
For those of you who haven't heard yet, we wanted to inform you all that a lot has changed since our last post in June. The mom we were previously matched with cut off communication and presumably decided to parent her child.
In late September, we were re-matched with a mom who was expecting twins. Since then, we have found out that one of these twins passed away in the womb. Praise God, the other baby is doing great and we found out it is a ..... GIRL!! We are very excited!!
We received a phone call from our case worker that we have been matched with a mom for adoption!! She is due at the end of July and is currently planning to deliver in her hometown of Dallas. We are extremely excited that we get the opportunity to walk alongside this mom in her last phase of pregnancy and we are praying that she makes plans for the future that are in the best interest of her baby.
With this next step comes the reality of the expense of adoption. Our total expenses will run about $80k. We know we serve a God who always richly provides, and who has already blown us away with the generosity of supporters like you, so we are trusting Him to help us bring our baby home!
Hello Everyone,
After months of paperwork, interviews, background checks and prayerful waiting, we just received word that we are Home Study Approved to become an adoptive family!! We are thankful for the Lord Jesus and all the supporters that have sustained us to this point, and are (somewhat) patiently awaiting the day we can be matched with a birth family through Faithful Adoption Consultants. We've been keeping busy with our frozen meal fundraiser, and now will begin turning attention to applying for grants. Thank you for being part of our adoption team through giving, prayers, and cheering us on!
