We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfund campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $80,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
We had the pleasure of taking a new born class last month. It was so informative and helped us be more comfortable with what to expect when we do get the call. I think being prepared is essential to success. We learned about baby skin care, best way to give them a bath, how to change a diaper, changing and holding a new born. All information was great and I am so excited to be on this journey.

My husband and I just took a class through the Red Cross to get CPR and first aid certified for adults, kids, and infants. Learning these simple things you can do to save a life is extremely important. We feel a lot more comfortable now about potential choking hazards than we did before. Thank you Red Cross.
Our profile book is done and we are live. This is such an exciting and anxious time.
We are officially home study approved and are moving onto the next exciting step of creating our profile. The agency uses that profile to help expecting mothers learn about our family. These profiles are so important in highlighting family values and traditions so the expecting mothers can picture what growing up with us would be like.
