Roni & Stephanie Bhullar
are adopting a child from Haiti
A NOTE TO ANONYMOUS DONORS: We’d like to personally thank every person who gives towards adoption expenses and keep record of this for our family to look back on to remember the people who made this all possible. We understand wanting to keep your donation private on this page, but if you are comfortable letting us know you’ve donated, please send us a private message. AdoptTogether does not allow us to know who the anonymous donors are! ——————————————
We have BIG news to share! We have accepted a referral for a boy living in Haiti! We cannot share anymore details publicly due to adoption laws, but we are so excited (and relieved!) to finally know who will make us a family of five.
We have been busy applying for grants and have already been awarded one grant for $2,000 paid to our agency. However, we do still expect a gap in funding and have increased our total fundraising goal to $35,000. There are always unexpected expenses along the way, especially towards the end of the process.
We do plan to go back and fill out puzzle pieces and finally assemble our puzzle that we can display in our home, so please follow along for updates on that. We had a temporary foster placement and did not give this page much attention during that time. We hope to keep things more updated now.
Thank you all so much for joining us in this journey! Our kids are overjoyed to know who their new brother will be. Please pray with us that he will get to come home sooner than any of us can expect! (Tentatively, we are hopeful to have him home around May 2027, but we know God can make any timeline happen.)

Update 12
$14,000 Coffee Giveaway + Challenge
November 1, 2025You all blew us away and helped us get the whole way to $14,000! Thank you to all who have given to or shared our fundraiser. I’ve attached a photo of our most recent puzzle pieces. We could not do this without your help!
We have two major milestones to mention. Our USCIS fingerprinting is scheduled, and we mailed off our very large stack of papers for dossier prep. Our agency will receive the package on Monday and begin sorting documents for translation and authentication. Eventually when our I-800A is approved by USCIS, that approval document will go with the rest of our stack of papers and get sent off to Haiti. We are pushing for January/February! We have until then to raise the remaining $9,000 for the pre-match fees.
We are hopeful to receive enough grant funding for the second half of our adoption. We’ve already been working hard to get applications out. This process is not for the faint of heart, and we really are thankful for each one of you who is helping to get us through it.

Update 11
USCIS + Fundraising Update
October 23, 2025This Monday, we received a receipt from USCIS to tell us our I-800A (Application for Determination of Suitability to Adopt a Child from a Convention Country) has been received and scanned into their system. This is a huge next step! The average timeline for this to process is 3.5 months including another biometrics appointment along the way.
Simultaneously, we have been working on our dossier, which is another huge stack of papers including medical exams, blood labs, bank statements, criminal checks, birth certificates, marriage certificates, letter of intent, etc. We hope to notarize the ones that require it next week and get them mailed out to our agency as soon as possible. Then our agency will separate pieces out to get translated into French and some to be sent off to be apostilled for further authentication. Eventually these papers, many photos of our family and home, AND the I-800A approval will all get mailed off to Haiti together. Things could move slower or faster, but a realistic timeline for paperwork to be sent to Haiti is January/February.
Things are moving! Please pray that they continue to move forward without issue and faster than any of us could anticipate. We will feel so much better when our papers are sent off to Haiti!

Now for the fundraising update! Attached is a photo of 19 more puzzle pieces! We also had some anonymous donations come in that pushed us well past $13,000! You all are amazing, and we really could not do this without each donation so far. Thankfully with your help, we have these big fees covered:
Home Study Review - $1000
USCIS I-800A - $920
Translations and Documents - $550
Haiti Program Expenses/Wire - $5,630The next and final amount needed prior to sending our packet off to Haiti is an agency fee of $8,550. Our goal is to get this fee raised by the end of January! ** Our total fundraising goal has been changed to reflect this. **

Update 10
$8000!
October 14, 2025You all continue to amaze all of us with the support! We have passed the $8000 mark which means that Roni had to hold up to his end of the bargain and complete his hot pepper challenge (eat a whole Scotch Bonnet pepper). Even better was that he had to do this on his 40th birthday.
Since the last update, we have also had twelve more puzzle pieces purchased! 🤩
Finally, we will give Roni a break for this next $1000 reached. When we get to $9000, we will do another Haitian coffee giveaway. We will pull two names from all puzzle pieces purchased up to the $9000 total fundraising milestone.

September 29, 2025Thank you to everyone who has already “bought” a puzzle piece (or a few!). You all have knocked out 39 pieces already with 481 to go. I will try to continue to update here every week or two. We appreciate each one of you.
