We have BIG news to share! We have accepted a referral for a boy living in Haiti! We cannot share anymore details publicly due to adoption laws, but we are so excited (and relieved!) to finally know who will make us a family of five.

We have been busy applying for grants and have already been awarded one grant for $2,000 paid to our agency. However, we do still expect a gap in funding and have increased our total fundraising goal to $35,000. There are always unexpected expenses along the way, especially towards the end of the process.

We do plan to go back and fill out puzzle pieces and finally assemble our puzzle that we can display in our home, so please follow along for updates on that. We had a temporary foster placement and did not give this page much attention during that time. We hope to keep things more updated now.

Thank you all so much for joining us in this journey! Our kids are overjoyed to know who their new brother will be. Please pray with us that he will get to come home sooner than any of us can expect! (Tentatively, we are hopeful to have him home around May 2027, but we know God can make any timeline happen.)

    HOME STUDY APPROVED / Puzzle Update #1

    We have finally hit the first major milestone in this adoption process: our home study was officially approved!

    THANK YOU to everyone who has given so far to help us build our puzzle in this current fundraiser! The next expenses are daunting, which is why we love the idea of this fundraiser and the tangible reminder that we are literally doing this piece by piece. If you’d like to participate and “buy” a piece of the puzzle, each piece is $20. You can “buy” just one piece or as many as you’d like!

    Attached is a photo of the 13 pieces that have already been paid for out of the 520 total.

    Wow! We are so excited that we continue to have so many of you supporting us in this process! We have hit the $7000 mark and have the home study wrapped up. Next we will file our first form with USCIS and continue working on the documents needed to prepare our file to send off to Haiti. The next few steps are very costly, and we are asking again for your help.

    We have a 520 piece puzzle with an image of Haiti that is significant to us, and we are inviting all of you to be a piece of our adoption. This fundraiser has been successfully done by many other families. Each piece will be “purchased” for $20, and we will write the donor’s name on the back and post updates periodically. When all 520 pieces are paid for, we will assemble the puzzle and frame it in a double sided frame so we can use it as a reminder that so many of you came together to make this possible. If successful, this will also help us raise $10,400! That is a huge chunk of these next expenses. We know this is a lofty goal, but we also know that we have tons of friends and family willing to help. You can buy one piece, five pieces, or a hundred! To have some fun along the way, we (RONI) will continue doing challenges and giving things away.

    We know that some of you may be wondering about cost and what exactly your donations are being used for. Here is a breakdown of what has been paid so far:

    $170 - certified birth/marriage certificates

    Wow, we made it to $6000 in ONE DAY! 🤩 Roni has agreed to let the kids smash TWO DOZEN EGGS (some boiled, some raw) over his head if we can push the amount to $6500 by August 1! If not, no worries, he will still smash one dozen eggs and post the video as promised.

    If we do make it to $6500, we will also pick a THIRD winner for a bag of Haitian coffee!
