Peter and Amanda Birdsong

are adopting 2 children from United States of America

We Have Big News to Share!

Our hearts are overflowing with excitement! We’re ADOPTING!

As many of you know, our journey to grow our family has been filled with both joy and heartbreak. After the birth of our oldest child, we faced the pain of secondary infertility, endured multiple losses, and navigated an endometriosis diagnosis. But through every tear and every prayer, God remained faithful and in His perfect timing, He blessed us with our two younger children. Adoption has been a calling on our hearts for many years, and now, God is opening the door for us to step into a truly miraculous path: embryo adoption!

So, what is embryo adoption?

We will be adopting the tiniest, most precious lives, babies at just 2 to 5 days old in development. After couples go through IVF, many end up with more embryos than they can possibly bring into this world. A life honoring choice couples can make, is to lovingly place their remaining embryos up for adoption. Right now, it’s estimated that over 1 million frozen embryos are waiting in storage across the U.S. We believe every single one of these lives is valuable, created in God’s image, and worthy of love, family, and a future. This unique and beautiful form of adoption gives us the opportunity to carry and give birth to a child who may not share our DNA, but who will be deeply and unconditionally loved from the very beginning. Through this journey, we hope to honor the sanctity of life and reflect the incredible love of our Heavenly Father.

How You Can Help?

We’re adopting through the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) in Knoxville, TN. Your support, whether through a tax-deductible gift or heartfelt prayers means the world to us! Every dollar and every prayer brings us one step closer to welcoming a precious life into our family.

We’re so grateful for our Winston-Salem community, our church family, and friends near and far. You’ve stood with us through infertility, and now we invite you to walk with us into this next chapter. Together, let’s give these tiny lives a chance to grow, to be loved, and to thrive.

With love and gratitude,

Amanda & Peter

P.S. Follow along for updates as we move through our home study, matching process and embryo transfer. Your support truly makes a difference!

    December Snowflakes! ❄️ ❄️

    October 19, 2025

    Hey everyone!

We wanted to update y’all on where we’re at in our adoption process since things are moving quickly now! We recently completed the mediation phase and secured three incredible, identical open adoption agreements (ODAs) with all three of our families! Huge praise!

We are officially transferring our precious Snowflake babies in December, which is so fitting for these winter miracles! ❄️❄️ For the transfer, we will be traveling back to Knoxville. Amanda will start her medication routine in November to help prepare her body for the frozen embryo transfer. This involves daily hormone shots, which she’s nervous about. Please pray that her body tolerates the medications well, with no adverse reactions, and responds perfectly to support the transfer. Most importantly, please pray that our sweet embryos survive the thaw and implant in her womb successfully on our first attempt.

    URGENT FUNDRAISING ALERT: ⏰
Time is running out, and we desperately need your help! We’re $3,040.00 short of our adoption funding goal, and our “Pieces of Hope” puzzle fundraiser through Plead 4 the Privilege ends on November 1st, which is less than two weeks away!

🧩 Every single dollar donated through P4P goes 100% to us! P4P takes no fees!
💸 Each puzzle piece is just $25, and you can sponsor one or as many as you’d like.
🖌️ Your name will be written on the back of each piece you sponsor, forever etching your support into our adoption story.
🌟 We’ll be displaying the completed puzzle in our nursery as a keepsake honoring everyone who helped us.
🚨 Please act now! Your support is critical to bringing our Snowflake babies home! 🏡

    We’re Fully Matched!!

    September 11, 2025

We’ve completed the matching phase and while we initially planned to match with just two families, God had other plans. One match didn’t work out, but we’ve been blessed to connect with three families instead, each offering two embryos for adoption. This gives us a total of six embryos for our upcoming embryo transfer! To increase our chances of pregnancy, we’ve chosen to combine the embryos from all three families, meaning we won’t know which family our baby(ies) are biologically related to until after birth.

Why does the NEDC require at least five embryos for a transfer?

Unlike some clinics that allow transfers with just one or two embryos, the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) requires a minimum of five to maximize the chances of a successful transfer. Only about 50% of frozen embryos survive the thawing process, so having at least five ensures we can proceed with the transfer without wasting a medicated cycle. Rest assured, we’ll only transfer two embryos at a time! If we’re blessed with a successful pregnancy and have remaining embryos, they’ll be refrozen and donated back to the NEDC for other families to adopt.

    What’s next for us?

Over the next 4–6 weeks, we’ll work closely with Christian Adoption Consultants to finalize the terms of our open adoption agreements with each family. We ask for your prayers as we seek God’s wisdom to create agreements that honor both our family and the donor families, as well as any future children God blesses us with.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to our adoption fundraisers! Your generosity is truly overwhelming and brings us closer to growing our family! Through our “Pieces of Hope” puzzle fundraiser with Plead for the Privilege, we’re already 40% of the way to our funding goal and only on day 18 of our 60-day campaign! There’s still time to help us reach our goal, and every contribution makes a meaningful impact. Plus, every dollar donated through Plead for the Privilege goes directly to our adoption journey! Matching Phase and Pieces of Hope

    August 20, 2025

    Hi Friends & Family!

This week we officially entered the matching phase! On Monday, we submitted requests to adopt embryos from two amazing families so we could reach the five embryos needed for transfer. Less than 24 hours later, we received incredible news! One of the families has already approved our adoption! We are so excited!!! Now we’re prayerfully waiting to hear back from the second family.

If they also approve, our next step will be working with Christian Adoption Consultants to guide us through mediation and help us finalize the details of our open adoption agreements. Please continue to pray with us. Specifically, that if this is the family God has chosen for us, doors will open quickly, and if not, He will lovingly guide us to the family that is meant to be part of our story. 💕

    FUNDRAISING UPDATE:

We’re excited to announce that we’re now partnering with Plead 4 the Privilege (P4P), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to raise the remaining funds for our adoption. This means every donation is still tax-deductible!

Over the next 60 days, P4P will host a “Pieces for Hope” puzzle fundraiser for us. Here’s how it works:
🧩 You can “sponsor” one or more puzzle pieces.
✍️ Each donor’s name will be written on the back of their pieces. If you have already donated, we have set aside pieces with with your names on them too!
💗 Once complete, this special puzzle will hang in our nursery as a beautiful reminder to our children of the many people who helped bring them home.

The fundraiser will primarily run through Facebook, so keep an eye out this week for an invite to our Facebook group. Not on Facebook? No problem! You can still donate through our link here: https://linktr.ee/Plead4thePrivilege

We're getting close to the finish line! Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We couldn’t do it without your love, encouragement, and prayers!

    Love,
Pete, Amanda, Addison, Logan and Judah

  • Update 3

    We’re Approved!

    July 20, 2025

The Birdsongs are officially Home Study Approved! This means we can move on to the Matching Phase of our adoption! During the matching phase, we’ll be paired with a family who has donated their remaining embryos to the NEDC and shares similar desires as our family for an open adoption. Once we receive approval from the donor family to adopt, we’ll begin mediating the terms of our open adoption agreement with the help of consultants from Christian Adoption Services.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, every dollar raised so far has gone toward covering our Home Study costs. We are deeply grateful for your support, which has brought us this far. However, we’re now facing significant expenses to move forward in our adoption journey. Before we can access the NEDC’s donor family profiles, we must pay the NEDC program fee, which is several thousand dollars. Additional costs, like the mediation fee for our open adoption agreement, are also on the horizon.
We’re prayerfully aiming for an embryo transfer in October or November, but we can only move as far and as fast as the Lord allows and we need your help to get there! Your support is vital to help us cover these upcoming expenses.

We’re beyond blessed to already have two amazing families who have generously chosen to match incoming donations up to $1,000! This is a fantastic opportunity to triple the impact of your gift. Please prayerfully consider coming along side of us on this journey by donating or consider becoming a matching donor to help us raise the remaining funds needed to grow our family quicker.
Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity mean the world to us!

    With gratitude,
Pete, Amanda, Addison, Logan and Judah
