Peter and Amanda Birdsong

are adopting 2 children from United States of America

We Have Big News to Share!

Our hearts are overflowing with excitement! We’re ADOPTING!

As many of you know, our journey to grow our family has been filled with both joy and heartbreak. After the birth of our oldest child, we faced the pain of secondary infertility, endured multiple losses, and navigated an endometriosis diagnosis. But through every tear and every prayer, God remained faithful and in His perfect timing, He blessed us with our two younger children. Adoption has been a calling on our hearts for many years, and now, God is opening the door for us to step into a truly miraculous path: embryo adoption!

So, what is embryo adoption?

We will be adopting the tiniest, most precious lives, babies at just 2 to 5 days old in development. After couples go through IVF, many end up with more embryos than they can possibly bring into this world. A life honoring choice couples can make, is to lovingly place their remaining embryos up for adoption. Right now, it’s estimated that over 1 million frozen embryos are waiting in storage across the U.S. We believe every single one of these lives is valuable, created in God’s image, and worthy of love, family, and a future. This unique and beautiful form of adoption gives us the opportunity to carry and give birth to a child who may not share our DNA, but who will be deeply and unconditionally loved from the very beginning. Through this journey, we hope to honor the sanctity of life and reflect the incredible love of our Heavenly Father.

How You Can Help?

We’re adopting through the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) in Knoxville, TN. Your support, whether through a tax-deductible gift or heartfelt prayers means the world to us! Every dollar and every prayer brings us one step closer to welcoming a precious life into our family.

We’re so grateful for our Winston-Salem community, our church family, and friends near and far. You’ve stood with us through infertility, and now we invite you to walk with us into this next chapter. Together, let’s give these tiny lives a chance to grow, to be loved, and to thrive.

With love and gratitude,

Amanda & Peter

    Greetings from TN!

    July 14, 2025

We’ve made some exciting progress in our adoption journey! This past weekend, we traveled to Knoxville for Amanda’s comprehensive medical screening and mock embryo transfer, which assessed how her body responds to the medication required for our upcoming frozen embryo transfer. Amanda passed with flying colors, and we are now medically CLEARED to proceed with the transfer! Dr. Keenan and his exceptional team at NEDC have been incredible to work with, and we’re so grateful for their expertise and care. While in Knoxville, we also visited the NEDC office to review the donor matching process, marking another significant step forward in our journey to grow our family.
Additionally, last weekend, our social worker conducted our in-person interviews and home inspection. The visit couldn’t have gone better, and we’re eagerly awaiting our completed Home Study report, which will officially make us “Home Study Approved” any day now!

As we move closer to our official transfer, we humbly ask for your continued prayers for strength, guidance, and a smooth process. We’re also deeply grateful for the generous support we’ve received through AdoptTogether. If you feel led to contribute, your donations will help us cover the remaining costs of this journey. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way!

Moving Forward: Medical Screening & Home Study Underway!

    May 22, 2025

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been scheduled to travel to Knoxville for our medical screening and mock transfer in July. This is an exciting milestone in this process! We’ve also officially started our Snowflakes Family Evaluation (a home study specifically for embryo adoption) with Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Once the medical screening is successfully completed and the home study is approved, we’ll move into the matching phase!

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. We’re so grateful to have you walking alongside us on this journey!
