Nick & Ashley Conte
are adopting a child from United States of America
It is an incredible blessing to us that you opened our fundraising page.
For years, we have set our hearts on adoption, and believe the time is right to move forward. We have prayed, and we have waited, and a door has opened for us to lovingly walk through. Our adoption expenses are expected to be anywhere between $25,000-30,000 towards agency, state and expectant mom expenses. We are hopeful to make up a portion of this, but cannot possibly do it all alone. Therefore, we are humbly asking that you would pray and consider supporting our adoption.

What Our Waiting Looks Like
June 8, 2026It seems that just about every week we are reviewing a case of an expectant mom who is making an adoption plan for her child. Most of these cases make a ton of sense for the safety and security of the baby. We have been surprised that we have had to decline a small handful of cases due to their specific circumstances, but rejoice that other families are able to fill the spot as adoptive parents. We have also had a small handful of situations where we have said "yes" to a child, only to have the expectant mom pick another family. It is in these specific situations where others have grown curious as to how we are handling the waiting period. How are we feeling after what seems like "rejection"? Are we growing impatient?
Truthfully, we feel at peace in the waiting. Even though each situation is emotionally difficult to read through- due to the many extreme scenarios that each mom and child are facing- we know that God has a plan for each kid. When we don't get selected as the adoptive family, there is still much rejoicing in that another family did!
When we entered this process, we did so because we felt God was calling us (nearly through a megaphone) to pursue infant adoption. From the beginning of this journey, we have felt that we are not just in this process to adopt a child, but that we are in this process to adopt a specific child. God has surely gone before us and has selected us to parent a child who has likely yet to take their first breath. We feel very blessed to be a part of this and cannot wait to meet the kid that God has gone before to provide for and show His affection to. Psalm 139 has never felt more real than it has been to walk through this process and have God so clearly indicate His acknowledgement of a child before they even come to be. His love has been on display for us, and for many who have walked alongside us as we wait.
So, when we don't get selected by an expectant mom, it's okay!! Because we know we are waiting for one very special baby.

Update 9
Here is the link!
May 23, 2026Hey again,
Here is the link in reference to our previous update:
https://mystory.lifesongfororphans.org/stories/our-path-to-adoption-2/
We apologize it took a few days to create the link with LifeSong. This is the site you can use to give and LifeSong will double your donation. The distributions are tax-deductible and get sent directly to our adoption ministry when legal/processing bills are due.
Again, thank you to anyone who is able. We are 60% funded and this matching grant has the possibility of getting us to 85% funded!
We will continue to adjust our goal for fundraising as things change.
We are still getting presented with children weekly who are in line for the foster system. We praise God for the families who have been able to adopt them and we know that we will be able to adopt when the time is right.
God bless,
Nick & Ashley

Update 8
A Blessing
May 20, 2026Something incredible happened today! We received an incredibly generous matching-grant from LifeSong and Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Mississippi. They are offering to match any donations made going forward.
Truly, we feel blessed, but we are also not surprised by how God has shown up. Throughout this process, He has shown us time and time again just how faithful He is. His love for this child, who we have yet to meet, is just so apparent.
If you are able to offer any additional support, know that your giving is making a powerful impact. We still have a large deficit. If right now you cannot support financially, then don't! Your prayers are worth more than your money.God bless,
Nick & Ashley -

Update 6
As we wait
April 7, 2026Hey everyone,
Our wait for a match now has been 2 month. As a reminder, the national average is about 2 years. It takes time to place children in homes that are right for their unique circumstances. Additionally, our adoption route works with a very vulnerable community of women who are walking through a variety of different traumas and hardships. We feel peace as we wait, because we know God has already selected us as parents for a sweet child. The time will soon come for us to bring a baby home.
In the meantime, we are getting creative with our fundraising and attempting to provide a variety of options. For our local friends, our lasagnas are still available on demand. For our friend near and far, we now have some adoption goodies that you can purchase that will support us. Here is the link: https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-conte-adoption/
Thank you so much for your support! Ths is Kingdom work, and you are playing a role in it.
Love,
The Contes
