We are absolutely thrilled and so excited to announce that we’re adopting a little girl!!!! We have been planning and praying for this for 14 years! Big sister is SO excited and can’t wait!! Some may already know our families story and medical journey with River. Little Olive is also living with some additional medical needs. We believe both our girls are miracles. We would love for you to join us on this journey of bringing little Olive home! We are working with an amazing non profit adoption agency that has gone above and beyond for us.

I can hardly believe it but our family is 4 DAYS from flying to pick up our sweet girl!! It will be a non stop full tilt week….but I absolutely can’t wait to hold Olive again and see her little face!!!
We did it!! This morning we officially passed court…..our adoption has been finalized!! Olive Annabella Dickens is our daughter!!!

We have a court date!!!!!! This is the best news!! After what feels like an eternity….we have received word that our court date in Bulgaria is this coming week!!!!! 939 days of being alone….. on July 27 Olive Annabella will officially become a Dickens. Can you imagine. After 939 days.
With court coming up in a matter of days-we should be getting our travel dates anytime now for me to go pick Olive up!! That will be a crazy whirlwind week of driving the 6 hours from the capital to the city where her orphanage is located…..picking her up…..driving 6 hours back to Sofia….medical appointments….blood work…TB test….interview at the consulate etc etc.
We are SO SO excited and grateful for each one of you who have prayed, supported, and loved our little girl. We are very close to having the cost of travel and final medical and visa covered. Thank you so much for all your encouragement and love.

Bringing Olive Home!!!!!!
Last night at 5 pm we got our travel dates for Trip 1!! We fly out of Chicago next Friday and get back the 29th! I can’t believe it!! The 24-28 we will be the days we get to see Olive in the city she is in. We are literally flying high with anticipation and excitement. What a miracle.
After this trip-it will hopefully only be 60-75 days until we can pick her up!! Please pray everything goes smoothly, that the I 800 and all those million remaining documents get approved quickly on the US side, that we get a court date quickly, and find favor with the judge presiding.
We are so close to bringing our baby girl home!!
We have so much to be both excited and thankful for! In the next 2-3 weeks we should be hearing that our Dossier is accepted and then we will be getting travel dates to see Olive!! I can’t wait to get to see her in person and to hold her!!
While it seems like a lot of ‘hurry up and wait’ there are so many little steps and hurdles and we feel like we’re on the home stretch!
