We’re adopting!!!!
We are so excited to be on this journey! God has been working on this story for a long time and just recently made it clear that we are called to do this!
We are planning for a domestic infant adoption which will likely cost around $50k or even more depending on birth mama’s circumstances. Most people who want to adopt don’t even start the journey because of the financial burden. That’s why we are hoping to raise $25,000 to help ease this. It seems big but we know that God is bigger than our money! If He desires a child to enter our home through adoption, we have full confidence He will work out the details to make it happen.
Please help us bring home a sweet baby who is in need of a stable and loving family and the knowledge of God’s love. Thank you for your prayers and support!
** Donating here is an option. You will receive a tax receipt and you can remain anonymous. However, they do take 5% of the funds and the funds can take a month for us to receive. Hi friends! Just an update about what’s to come, all Lord willing. We’ve contacted the lawyers. They have a few things we need to complete before getting under contract with them. Hoping to have those things done this week and have our first consultation in the next week or so.
I got the updated and official fee schedule and while our grand total is the same, our next goal has changed. Instead of the $7,000 originally planned to be due at the time we are matched with a mama, we are looking at $12,450 instead. Again, our total hasn’t changed. This just made more of it due at match rather than at the time the baby is placed with us. So now, after a couple more sales and donations, we have 375 puzzle pieces ($25 each) in the jar to represent that gap we still need to fill. Our final chunk, the amount due at placement can fluctuate greatly but is an estimated 34k. Ridiculously intimidating but I know God will find a way to make this happen.
Grants and fundraising events - we have started getting into grant applications. Praying more of those will come through than we anticipate. We are considering a T-shirt fundraiser, a craft/bake/garage sale in the spring, and a Both Hands service project in the summer. Please let me know if you have any interest in helping with any of these! We are still in the early stages of planning but it’s never too early!
We always covet your prayers for us as we navigate the twists and turns and fears and worries in this journey. We also ask that you continue to pray for Mama and Baby.
Adoption Update:
💕 We are OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL! Home Study Approved!! Justin was *finally* able to get his fingerprints done yesterday! The case worker sent us a final copy of our home study last night and is emailing it to Kirsh & Kirsh today! 🙌 💃
💕 With donations and personal savings, we have passed the $10,000 mark of our $50,000 goal.
💕 God’s timing is perfect, am I right? Outside of donations on our site (those are harder to get so we are saving them up for the bigger chunk due at the end), we have $7,612 of the $7,750 needed to get started with Kirsh. If the fingerprints were done the first time (or the second time, or the third time 🙃) they were scheduled, we would not have been this close to having the liquid funds needed.

You guys helped us blow our January goal out of the water and we are SO THANKFUL. Our home study is paid in full and we have the full down payment for the lawyers - which we will be contacting LORD WILLING in the next week or so!
Our next financial goal is to save up the amount that we will owe once we are matched with an expectant mama - $7000.
This amount is represented by the 280 puzzle pieces in this jar. After recent sales, we are currently at 263 pieces left. We don’t know when this amount will be due. It could be a month after we get started with the lawyers. It could be a year from now.
We are determined to do this debt free. Living debt free is one of our family’s core values. Believe me when I say we are saving EVERYTHING possible out of our budget but even then, we cannot do this alone, especially if the timeline goes faster than average.

Our home visit this morning went great!!! The case worker said we are already approved but we had to go through the formality of the home visit to confirm everything that we’ve said up to this point. So in the next week or so, we should have the report in hand and be on to the next steps!! Thank you for praying and for walking this journey with us.
We have absolute angels in our lives. I’ve been in tears almost every day since starting this journey.
We are over 20% of the way to meeting our fundraising goal (10% of our total goal). One day shy of a month since God answered my prayers and led Justin to tell me that he wants to adopt.
Justin and I are completely speechless. There is no way to properly thank you all for the impact you have had in our lives and in the lives of an expectant mama and tiny baby somewhere out there.
