are adopting a child from United States of America

We’re adopting!!!!

We are so excited to be on this journey! God has been working on this story for a long time and just recently made it clear that we are called to do this!

We are planning for a domestic infant adoption which will likely cost around $50k or even more depending on birth mama’s circumstances. Most people who want to adopt don’t even start the journey because of the financial burden. That’s why we are hoping to raise $25,000 to help ease this. It seems big but we know that God is bigger than our money! If He desires a child to enter our home through adoption, we have full confidence He will work out the details to make it happen.

Please help us bring home a sweet baby who is in need of a stable and loving family and the knowledge of God’s love. Thank you for your prayers and support!

** Donating here is an option. You will receive a tax receipt and you can remain anonymous. However, they do take 5% of the funds and the funds can take a month for us to receive. So if you would like to donate by PayPal (@akv93 - choose Family and Friends option) or by cash or check, those may be better options as they will be more readily available. You have our word that 100% of the proceeds will go directly into the adoption fund! **

    25 More Pieces!!!

    December 31, 2023

God is humbling me greatly. After several days of deep doubt, He is showing me yet again that I need to let go and let God!

Our January goal was to sponsor 160 pieces so that we could contact the attorneys immediately after our home study was complete. We are only 25 pieces away. 😭 I cannot believe it.

Something I didn’t realize going into this was how much money was due up front. There is no way we could have done this alone. We are so thankful. So blessed. And at a complete loss for words on how to properly say THANK YOU.

    25 more pieces. 🧩 💛

    Sponsor A Puzzle Piece

    December 24, 2023

This 1000 piece puzzle will represent our adoption fund. Each piece of the puzzle will represent $25 toward our fund. I will put the name of the donor(s) on the back of each piece or a ❤️ for anonymous donors. Once we get each piece sponsored, we will complete the puzzle and frame it in a way where both sides can be seen so that we can show this baby how LOVED they are and how our community came together to give this baby a loving and forever home. I’m blown away that we already have 40 pieces sponsored! Help us complete the puzzle and bring home this sweet baby!

    One Bite at a Time

    December 21, 2023

How do you eat an elephant?

Our first hurdle is the down payment for the attorneys. We plan on contacting them to start being presented to expectant mamas in early February. However, they require about 8k up front and by that time, we will only have about half of that available. So our first bite of this hypothetical $50,000 elephant is about $4,000.

I will be applying for grants like it’s my full time job as soon as our home study is complete but this chunk will be due before we could even get any grants in hand.

We are trusting that God’s got this. Maybe not on our timeline. But we will get there!

Our goal for January: $4,000 more so that we can get in touch with the attorneys.

    Our Story

    December 21, 2023

When we first got married, Justin told me that he always thought he would adopt. I didn’t give it much consideration as having biological children was my desire at that time. 4 pregnancies, 3 amazing children, and around 7 busy and beautiful years later, we decided to close the “baby” chapter of our lives. That is, until God laid it on my heart to approach Justin about that desire to adopt. He kept saying “let me think about it” and later, “I’m content with our family now”. After several months of not getting an answer besides that, I gave it to God. I assumed this wasn’t His plan. I started working on my heart, that I would be content with fully closing this chapter. I donated every single baby item I owned. I laid it at the feet of Jesus and asked that if He DID have this in store, that Justin would be the one to bring it up. This would be a total miracle in my opinion. Neither of us brought it up again. Fast forward several months, Justin told me out of the blue “I want to adopt”. After picking my jaw up off the floor and wiping away tears of joy, we decided to officially embark on this journey. We don’t know how this will work out but God’s leading has been clear thus far and we trust that He will continue to lead us and work out all the details for our good and His glory.
