We have some big news! We are adopting!!
As those close to us know, having children has been a desire of our hearts our whole marriage. For the passed 11 years we have been unsuccessful in conceiving. It has been a long difficult journey through infertility with little to no answers. After our last failed IVF transfer, Shane and I looked at each other and said "Ok God, let's adopt!" The more we have prayed about it, the more we have seen that God loves adoption. We thank God for this journey because it has strengthened our walk with Him as well as with each other.
For the last year we have been recovering financially, physically, and emotionally from all of the fertility treatments. We are proud to say that we are blessed to be out of debt as well! We did not want to go into adoption with a bunch of debt.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. The biggest obstacle we are facing is the adoption-related costs. Did you know that adoption can easily cost $35,000 or more? This is why we have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community and family that we hope to build around our child as he/she grows.
Thank you for considering helping us. God Bless,
Shane and Megan
Time for an amazing update!
Back in September we were matched with a birth mom who was expecting identical twin girls! This incredible young woman decided first to choose life, second to make a loving choice of adoption, and third she wanted Shane and I to be the parents.
Well on December 29th we were told the girls were coming very soon due to some complications. So we left that night to make the 16 hour drive to Florida. We stopped at 2:30 am to grab a couple hours of sleep and were awakened at 6:00am, by a message from the birth mom that things were moving quickly. In about 15 min we were back on the road.
On December 30th, 2023 at 6:49am Kayley was born and at 6:50am Kyra was born. Both quite small, but healthy otherwise. Praise God! Kayley weighed in at 3lbs 13oz and Kyra 3lbs 14oz. The girls were taken to NICU due to their size. God is so good, neither of them needed any respiratory assistance or feeding tube or any other kind of medical assistance.
Shane and I got to the Hospital that afternoon. On January 1st adoption papers were signed. We then spent the next 11 days in the NICU with our daughters. The NICU nurses were incredible and often just came and hung out with us. On January 10th the girls finally made it to 4 lbs and we were discharged. Incredibly, the paperwork that allowed us to travel with the girls was approved the same day! (We were told it could take a week) Only God!
So on the 11th we began a slow trip back to Indiana with our daughters. We walked through the doors to our home for the first time as a family of 4 on the evening of January 13th.
It has been a whirlwind, but God provides continually. We want to thank all those who made our adoption possible with their love, prayers, and support.
Welcome home Kayley and Kyra Praisler
We have exciting news! We have been matched with a birth mom in Florida. She is due end of January/beginning of February with TWINS!!!! To add to the excitement...they are identical GIRLS! Excited does not even begin to describe how we are feeling!
God has put us here so such a time as this! We are excited to see HIS plan unfold.
Thank you to all who have reached out to help us.
Exciting news! We are officially active through Lifetime Adoption Agency!
So, now we wait and do what we can to prepare for a little one and for the process of the actual adoption.
We are excited to say that we had an incredible experience with our home study through Tapestry Adoption Agency. As of 6/26/23 we have an approved home study and clearances!
Next step at this time is development of our website and profile. Once that is complete we will have to make a payment and then we can be listed as potential adopters!
We trust that in God's timing, the right birth mother will select us. We continue to pray for the mother and our future child.
We have officially contracted with an adoption agency! After much research and several meetings with multiple agencies, we decided to apply to Lifetime Adoption Agency. They reviewed our application thoroughly then we had a phone conference which was more like an interview. They were extremely thorough and informative. At the end of the phone call, Lifetime Adoption said they would like to take us on as a family looking to adopt!
One step closer!
