Bailey & Patrick Roberts

are adopting a child from United States of America

We have exciting news to share!!!

After many failed attempts at growing our family, both naturally and with a little bit of science, we are on our way to making those dreams come true…by adopting!!!

We are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new baby into our home, but we can't do it alone. Our family and friends have been there supporting us from day one, so we are hoping you can be part of this next journey too.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a fundraising page. This will help ease the some of the overwhelming financial stress, especially after investing so much with our previous IVF attempts. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $50,000 or more.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you have done already and can do now to help us achieve our dream of becoming a family of THREE (fur babies not included)

    Introducing Baby Roberts

    February 21, 2023

Patrick and I are proud to introduce to you, the newest addition to the Roberts family, Ruby Calliope Roberts ❤️ born February 8, 2023.

We have been looking forward to sending this update since the day we began on our adoption journey, and are so thankful for everyone who has followed along and helped get us to this point.

On February 15, 2023 we received an email from our consultant, which told us to let her know asap if we were interested in showing our profile to a birth mother who had given birth to a baby girl last week, in Lowell, Massachusetts and was interested in placing her up for adoption. We have received many of these emails, so we try not to get too excited when we tell her to share our information.

On February 17, 2023 we received the best phone call of our lives! We had been chosen out of 40+ families to become parents to this beautiful baby girl. To say we were excited, nervous and overwhelmed is an understatement!!

We spent the weekend preparing and planning to bring a baby into our home and practicing the no sleep part of parenthood! We always thought we would have more time between being chosen and bringing a baby home, but God had other plans for this Type A new mom.

We drove to Chelmsford, Massachusetts today, February 21, 2023, which is exactly 9 months since we sent in our application in to start on our adoption journey! We pulled into the Starbucks parking lot and prepared ourselves to meet our baby girl for the first time. Never in a million years would i have expected we would meet our baby for the first time inside a Starbucks, but it will be a story we love to share for the rest of our lives!

The three of us will be staying in a hotel here in Massachusetts for the next week or so, until Massachusetts and Maine have received and finalized our paperwork. We are so happy for this time together to bond and learn the ins and outs of parenthood, but cannot wait to get home to our dogs as well as share our baby girl with all our friends and family.

We are so thankful for everyone of you that has helped get us to where we are today. It wouldn't have been possible without your support and we are forever grateful for you.

For now...we're off to snuggle baby Ruby and smother her with so much love and affection!

    All our love!!
    Bailey, Patrick and Ruby❤️

1/17/2023 - Hoping 2023 is the year we become parents

    January 17, 2023

Happy New Year Family and Friends!

I know it has been a while since I last posted an update, but things have been going well. Since joining our consultant group in early November, we have been given the opportunity to look over about 10-12 birth mothers and chose to share our profile with a handful of them. Unfortunately we have not found our match yet, but we know our time is coming!

We hope everyone has had a great holiday season and got to spend time with family and friends from near and far. We have been trying to do the same, all while waiting for that special call. At the beginning of December, Patrick, my mom, stepdad and I spent a week together in Orlando. It was the first family vacation we all took together and was exactly what we needed. We had an amazing time and all came back refreshed and ready to take on the new year.

I hope to have a more exciting update soon!
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

    11/10/2022 - We're ready to be Matched!!

    November 10, 2022

    Hello again!!

A lot has changed since our last update!! Shortly after finishing our profile book and receiving the hard copies in the mail, we found out the adoption agency we have been working with is closing it's doors :-( To say this was a shock is an understatement, but we know everything happens for a reason and the universe has a plan for us.

Yesterday Patrick and I had a phone meeting with A Step Ahead, the adoption consultant group I mentioned in the last update, and they are exactly what we need and hoped for to make this dream a reality! After an hour and a half conversation with our Consultant, Donna, we are now officially on the market!

A Step Ahead works with adoption agencies from all over the United States, which gives us the opportunity to share our profile with a wider array of expectant mothers. Donna will send us information on potential matches, which we will review and let her know we are interested or not. She will then send our profile book to that specific agency and we will patiently wait to see if we were chosen!

We learned so much at yesterdays meeting, that we feel even more prepared then before, and have a greater understanding of the bigger picture! We are going to be parents before you know it and I cannot wait to share that we have been matched with all of you (hopefully) soon!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

    10/18/22 - Profile Book Complete

    October 18, 2022

Well since our last update, we have been busy creating our Adoption Profile Book, that will be shared with expectant parents soon (we hope). I will post a link at the bottom for those of you who may be interested in reading it.

We also recently learned that the adoption pool is continuing to be pretty slow at the agency in Maine we are working with, and there have been quite a few disruptions with those who have matched with them lately as well. I had a long conversation with the director and gained a lot of valuable information from her last week and learned of the many options we have to choose from. In the beginning of this journey we thought we would be only being working with Adoption Partners and hopefully bringing home a baby from Maine, but unless we are okay waiting a possible 2+ years, our best option is to look into other agencies as well. We are in the process of joining an adoption consultant group, which is kind of like a matchmaker in a way, who will share our profile with agencies all over the US. So instead of joining another agency, and being locked into just them, we will have the opportunity to view matches from multiple agencies and choose what's best for our family. With this comes traveling and unplanned costs that we did not account for originally, but love is what makes a family, and we have plenty of that to give! We cannot wait to be matched and start on this next chapter.

Please feel free to pass our information along, because you know it takes a village!
And enjoy reading through our profile book!

    9/23/22 - HOMESTUDY APPROVED!!!!

    September 27, 2022

    Happy Fall family and friends!!!

On Friday afternoon, September 23, 2022, we received one of the most exciting emails yet! We are officially Home Study approved. This means we have completed all our home visits with our social worker, all documents have been received, and we have been deemed a good fit to adopt a baby in the the State of Maine!

We will be meeting with the adoption agency in the next couple weeks to create a profile book for prospective birth mothers to look at and go over our matching options! We have been busy getting the nursery prepared, because you never know how fast or slow things could happen! It makes my heart smile every time I walk by the room, knowing someday we will be tucking a little one into their crib for the first time, or changing our very first diaper!

I cant wait to share the next update, but until then....we wait!

We appreciate everyone who is joining us on this journey, we love you all!
    Keep those good vibes coming!
