James & Amy Smith

are adopting 2 children from Liberia

🌍 Help Us Bring Our Daughters Home from Liberia 💛

We are Amy and James Smith — a family in Florida who God has blessed, and know He has called us to bless others. Recently, our hearts were forever changed when we were given the opportunity to adopt two beautiful sisters from Liberia, Africa: Christiana (10) and Eliza (7). The Word tells us in Deuteronomy to help the helpless, the orphaned, and the poor. We know that His word is true and we are called to bring Christian and Eliza into our family.

After hearing their story, we knew they needed a family to love and care for them. They needed us and we needed them! These precious girls have walked a hard road that no child should ever endure.

They were abandoned by their mother due to lack of money and food for them, almost 4 years ago and left in the care of their grandmother. But tragedy struck again — their grandmother passed away. With no one left to care for them, they’ve been moved from home to home, already having lived in four different places in just a few short years.

They’ve never been to school, and their days have been filled with endless labor — working from sunrise to sunset, often having only one meal of rice a day.

When we first learned about their story, we said yes immediately. Without hesitation. We didn’t have all the answers or all the funds, but we had something greater: God’s word, faith, love, and the conviction that these girls were meant to be our daughters. God had ordained it!

Since then, we’ve been FaceTiming them every week. Hearing them call us “Mommy” and “Daddy” and seeing the joy on their faces when we get to see each other - this has lit up our lives and melted our hearts. And every week, they ask us the same question that breaks our hearts a little more each time:

“Mommy… Daddy… when are you coming to get us?”

We’ve been preparing every way we can. We’ve recently built a home, and now we have room for our extended family. But after a slow season in our business and pouring our savings into finishing our house, we’ve found ourselves short on the adoption funds needed to bring them home.

We’re doing everything in our power — but we can’t do it alone.

That’s where you, our friends, come in, and the miracles of God.

We’re asking for your help — not just financially, but to join us in something truly sacred: changing the course of two young girls’ lives forever!

Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to holding our daughters in our arms. To giving them a home. A family. A future.

And if you give — whether it’s $10 or $1,000 — you will forever be a part of our extended family. We are praying blessings over every person who helps us in this journey. You are part of a miracle! You will be helping us change their world and break generational curses of poverty and abandonment.

Please help us bring Christiana and Eliza home. Help us answer their question with joy:

“We’re coming, sweet girls. We’re almost there.”

With all our love and gratitude, Amy & James Smith Florida, USA

    THE COUNT DOWN BEGINS!!

    January 26, 2026

We have been told that the Ministry of Gender has finished their interview with the birth mother and now it could be 2-3 months before we travel!
However, the Trump administration has currently put a HOLD on all visas from 75 countries, and Liberia, Africa is one of those. Please join us in prayer that this will be lifted within the next 2 months, so that we are able to bring our girls home.
Please also be in prayer for us while in Africa. That will be 30 days of being away from our 15 year old daughter and we will not be able to work either.
We still need to raise $17K to finalize our fees, this does not account for 4 tickets from Liberia and 2 there, this will be around $6K. This also does not count living there in a hotel for a month.

We appreciate all of your prayers! Please share our page to any of your family & friends!

    ELIZA'S BIRTHDAY

    September 16, 2025

Eliza had her 8th birthday at the orphanage. We were able to send money for her other have a beautiful pink cake to share with the other children in the orphanage, and she got a baby doll, a toy helicopter, bubbles, and a toy phone.
She was so excited! She had never had a birthday party before!

We believe her next birthday party will be here with us at her new home, and we have you all - our dear friends, to thank!

    September 3, 2025

I cannot say THANK YOU ENOUGH to you, our friends, who are now our family in this journey to bring Eliza and Christiana home! I am just blown away by your generosity. We needed to raise $13,700 for our next large payment to start paperwork in Liberia, and we have officially raised $13,316! I just can't say thank you enough!

We can't wait to document our trip to Africa and bring you all along with us in our hearts!

    WE HAVE HIT OVER $1,000

    August 3, 2025

My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude - I believe the Lord can do anything, but when you ask Him to do it for you, there is always a little voice in the back of your head wondering, "but will He do it for me?" I am seeing that He is doing and He is using you all as His hands and feet to achieve it! I can't wait until we go to Africa to pick up the girls and share this wonderful story with you all!

    BIRTHDAY PARTY!

    July 31, 2025

Christina had her FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER and she just turned 10 years old! In Liberia, birthdays are not that important, it is more about staying alive than when you were born. The girls didn't know their birthdays and when a family member told us, they said the girls were 5 and 8. Later we found out they were 8 and 10, but we didn't care! Now that we will be their parents - we plan to celebrate EVERY birthday.

When we FaceTimed Christina to tell her Happy Birthday- she didn't even know it was her birthday. The smile on her face when we sang to her was priceless. The orphanage also bought her a cake and the kids there sang her Happy Birthday. I could tell she was keeping a straight face not wanting to smile. She had never been the center of attention and didn't know how to receive it.

I am so blessed to be able to see the video they took of her party and will cherish it for years to come and one day show her.
