We have some big news!! We have started the process to adopt again!!!
We are excited to move forward in our desire to grow our family this way and anxiously await the time we get to the point we can be active candidates and welcome a new little one into our family.
As part of our adoption process, we are starting some fundraisers to help with adoption-related costs. These costs easily reach $40,000 before the finalization fees. This cost is overwhelming at times but we have experienced firsthand how the Lord provides in amazing ways. So we are asking you to pray about financially supporting our family in this next adoption.
Our hope is that by partnering with us you will see yourself as part of the community our child will be raised in. If financial support is not something you can do then please pray for us as we continue this and as we raise our children.
Thanks for taking the time to read our news
Love the Schmidt Family
The paperwork is done and we have legally added Isaiah Fredrick Schmidt to our family. Thank you all again for your help in bringing our boy home. I will be closing this site down so this will be our last update. Feel free to email, call, or text anytime. We are so thankful for the body of believers that God has surrounded us with and so humbled by your generosity. May you be blessed this Christmas season as we celebrate the coming the Jesus and look forward to the second advent of his final return
Merry Christmas!!!
We finally got the email with a court date to finalize Isaiah's adoption!!! We are so excited! I know many of you are not in Boise but for those that are we'd love for you to come celebrate with us when we make it official! Text me for details if you're interested
Well folks sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Its been busy, a really sweet and sometimes crazy busy.
Its so nice to be back home all together figuring out routines. Isaiah is 2 months old as of yesterday!!! Technically at the 2 week mark for being a preemie. But he is doing marvelous and almost 9 lbs now!! The older 3 kids love him and frequently ask to hold him. Brielle especially seems to love to be around him, giving him a blanket or a pacifier or wanting to help feed and burp. I've been so thankful for how well she's accepted not being the baby of the family anymore.
Thank you all for helping to bring our son home. We feel like the Lord has just carved an extra special place for him in our hearts. We are so grateful for his good health thus far and a decently smooth transition to a family of 6 .
Thank you all for continuing to pray for us in this unexpectedly long waiting period. Isaiah and I are still in GA partying all night and sleeping all day. Still no word from the state, I'm going to suggest they get an order status bar like Dominos Pizza so we can at least know they know we are waiting 😜.
At this point it doesn't look like I will be home Wednesday for Trevor's birthday, which is a huge bummer. We have been so thankful for people willing to step up and take care of our kids during the day while he works! We could not do this without our church family!!!
Isaiah is gaining weight and really not a terrible nighttime baby so far, I hope that pattern continues ! Our other 3 are doing well but starting to feel my absence more as the time continues to stretch on.
So we continue to wait on the Lord's timing and trust that he has a purpose for each day...while petitioning often that we can go home
Friends would you please join us in praying the state paperwork will be approved so I can fly home this week? Our agency is closed Friday so if we don't hear back tomorrow I'll be here all weekend. (I may or may not have looked up the penalty for crossing state lines without the approval haha)
Saturday is 2 weeks since I left Boise and 1 week since Isaiah was discharged. He is doing great but we're ready to be home.
