We have some big news!! We have started the process to adopt again!!!
We are excited to move forward in our desire to grow our family this way and anxiously await the time we get to the point we can be active candidates and welcome a new little one into our family.
As part of our adoption process, we are starting some fundraisers to help with adoption-related costs. These costs easily reach $40,000 before the finalization fees. This cost is overwhelming at times but we have experienced firsthand how the Lord provides in amazing ways. So we are asking you to pray about financially supporting our family in this next adoption.
Our hope is that by partnering with us you will see yourself as part of the community our child will be raised in. If financial support is not something you can do then please pray for us as we continue this and as we raise our children.
Thanks for taking the time to read our news

Good morning from GA friends. I'm heading to the hospital soon to spend the day with Isaiah. His calcium levels have risen so now we see if his little body can maintain the correct balance of calcium and phosphate.
Sunday he was consistently taking about 10 mls of formula from a bottle and yesterday he did about 30 each bottle!!! Huge gains! He's gaining weight well and everything else is going great! He's been awake a little more and crying with diaper changes, which is a good thing!
Our time here is still unknown (we pray for days!) an older couple from a church near the hospital has generously opened their home to me while I'm here. That was a HUGE answer to prayer. An indefinite Airbnb just wasn't sustainable! The Lord continues to provide for us through his people. It's a very humbling thing. The process of adoption is a great reminder of how the body has different functions and we all bless each other.
Trevor made it back to Boise Monday. My mom is with the kids until Friday then she heads back to CO and her job. Another huge blessing to have her there!
Thank you for your continued prayers!
Papers have been signed! We spent all day Sunday snuggling and caring for Isaiah. Trevor flies out today for Boise and our prayer is we aren't too far behind. To be discharged from NICU Isaiah needs to eat 8 full bottles consecutively without issues. He also has low calcium right now so that has to be up too. Once we hit those requirements we can leave! Thank you all for continuing to pray for us!
Isaiah means -the Lord saves
Fredrick means -Peaceful Ruler (and is his grandpa Schmidts name)
Isaiah 41 and especially v 10 is what God has been bringing to my mind since before accepted the match and when there were a lot of uncertainties he comforted us much with promises of being upheld by him
Thank you all for your prayers. We have officially accepted the match with this sweet boy and will fly to Atlanta Saturday! Trevor will return to Boise Monday and I will stay in GA until we can bring him home. Please join us in praying he can start doing bottle feedings so we can come home sooner and for our 3 kids as they will be without me and I without them. We are so excited and terrified...in the words of our kids we're terricited lol.
Life is filled with unknowns and I feel like that's never more apparent than when considering an adoption match. We received a call Friday about a baby boy born that morning, y weeks early. We said we'd pray about it but really didn't feel comfortable saying yes because of exposure to a certain drug and a TON of unknowns. So we researched and talking with professionals and friends and prayed. With every conversation we had new red flags we were looking for and then with every bit of new info those red flags disappeared. On paper it still feels like a crazy thing for our family of 5 to agree to but God has given Trevor and I an overwhelming sense of peace in saying "yes" to this little man. We still have concerns but God has repeatedly reminded us tomorrow is unknown and when he calls he equips. So we have officially agreed to this match and are so excited for our newest family member. Please join us in praying God would heal and restore baby's mind and body to good health that whatever drugs he was exposed to would be rendered completely harmless. Pray for our children as we move into this transition and especially as we will be apart from them when we go to get the baby. Trevor flew to ND today to attend his Grandpa's funeral services so depending on how things go we might meet up in Atlanta. The scripture the Lord gave me this morning was Isaiah 41:10 he walks with us each step strengthening and upholding us. Thank you for your generosity financially and standing with us in prayer as we keep walking through the doors that He opens
Our last update we shared about a potential match. The birth mom agreed to the match (which basically means she likes us and will move forward with pursuing adoption.) A baby girl was born March 7 and we had tickets to fly out March 9. However, the Lord has said no. The mom decided to parent which is great and sad all rolled into one. Our hearts ache with our "loss" even though she was only ours in our dreams we feel the unmet desire keenly right now. But we are not without hope. We know that God does so much more than we can even dream. Our calling this round was to pray for the mama and baby and in the end this mama chose life so we pray she can parent well. And we move forward trying to wait patiently for the Lord to say "yes". So thank you to all who have been praying and will continue to pray. We are so blessed by you!
