John & Meagan Tripp

are adopting a child from Costa Rica

We have exciting news! We’re adopting! As a family, we are feeling joyful and grateful to God that we can begin this amazing journey.

For a long time we’ve wanted another child. After struggling with infertility we thought we would have to let that dream go. However, in the last year God has guided us to dream again and in a way we hadn’t planned on. With faith, we have taken the first steps to adopt internationally.

John and I were drawn to international adoption because we love working with students that are new to the U.S. We thought Costa Rica was a good fit because John has traveled there twice already, and we were amazed when our adoption agent told us it was a perfect fit for us! It is our hope to be placed with a 6-8 year-old by the summer of 2026.

As we embark on this journey, our hope is that people will join us in 3 ways: ● prayer and encouragement ● financial support ● spread the word about our fundraising campaign

Our goal is to raise $35,000 to cover all the expenses that are involved in the adoption process. We inviting you to join the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up!

    Thank you for encouraging us!

    August 26, 2025

The new adoption agency is asking us to redo the initial sign on paperwork and interviews and fees. It’s a little discouraging, but God is still good. They’ve recommended a lot of grants, so I have lots to do.

Say a prayer so we can persevere!

    Approval Notice!

    July 21, 2025

Adoption Update: Yesterday we recieved a letter that said in big letters across the top, “APPROVAL NOTICE.” The Federal Government has granted us permission to adopt from Costa Rica. This incredible blessing comes on the tail end of bad news. Our adoption agency let us know they are closing their international adoption services. They let us know we could switch to the only other agency that works with Costa Rica, or we could quit the process entirely. We are very grateful there is an option to carry on! We are starting the process of transferring to Lifeline Adoption Agency. Please pray for a smooth transition!

    Paper Work Makes the Journey!

    June 27, 2025

Adoption Update: Our dossier is currently in Costa Rica and being slowly processed (6-12 months). We are also awaiting approval from the U.S. Department of Immigration. In the meantime, we painted our adopted child’s future bedroom. We ended up painting it white to make it look bigger and brighter, but maybe he or she can pick a preferred hue later.

    Prayers appreciated!

    Apostille Complete!

    May 11, 2025

Adoption update: On Thursday I was able to get an official apostille (a state-level document confirming the legitimacy of a notary) on 10 different documents. To celebrate we took a little trip to the State Capitol.
